- Mahavizaya Pagoda
- Often called "Ne Win's pagoda" because of his role in sponsoring its construction, the Maha Vizaya ("Great Victory") Pagoda is located adjacent to the southern entrance to the Shwe Dagon Pagoda in Rangoon (Yangon). Dedicated in 1980 to commemorate the establishment of a state-controlled Supreme Sangha Council, it enshrines relics donated by the King of Nepal and unlike most pagodas is hollow. Its inner chamber is lavishly decorated and contains many symbols related to astrology.
